The Lebanese Truth
 |
Omar Fakhoury realised the meaning of the Lebanese Truth through his life, thought, and pen. That truth became a part of him as much as he became a part of it. He tried to look into this “truth” for a nation that knows how to love itself and how to make others love and respect it.
The book includes a preface and three chapters.
The first chapter deals with the “political truth” particularly that of the victory of the Allies in World War 2 and the independence of Lebanon.
|
The second discusses the “intellectual truth” of Lebanese authors, at home and overseas, who struggled to institute a deeper meaning and significance for freedom as a necessity for life.
The third chapter argues for the “national truth”, the truth of independence, national unity, and responding to the people’s wishes.
The Lebanese Truth is a vibrant account of Lebanon, a living poetic and vivacious account written and seen through the spirit of a zealous author addressing the people with a merciless voice. Read More > Contemplations and conversations
